My Christmas wish list
After listening to my kids talk about their wish lists for Christmas, I thought I’d put together my wish list for Santa too. I don’t think my list is obtainable though, but maybe over time it could be!
Dear Santa;
I’ve been a good boy this year. I’ve been polite and I’ve used my manners (most of the time). Because of the good year I’m having, I’d thought I could ask for a few things for Christmas.
I wish I had a vehicle that would do its own tune-ups. No more making appointments at the garage and waiting in a room with other vehicle owners. No more fear of finding out there’s more work that my poor vehicle needs. I’ve often felt like I was waiting in a hospital waiting room. I try reading the face of the doctor, I mean mechanic, when they walk toward me. I’m sure my heart rate rises when that happens. If only the vehicle could fix itself…
I also wish I had a sound-proof passenger area. My selective hearing isn’t always enough to block out my 4 kids all talking at the same time. If there was maybe some type of plastic barrier behind the front seats that would stop the sound of their voices saying; “Daddy……daddy……daddy……daddy….” every few minutes. I’ve thought of earplugs before, but then I couldn’t hear honking or my front seat passenger. Wait, that’s not always a bad thing.
Another item on my wish list is to have my gas tank automatically fill itself up as I pass by the gas station, instead of having to pull in and pump it myself. According to “Murphy’s Law”, you always need to get gas when it’s either very busy at the gas station or when the prices have climbed. I’d like the gas to enter my gas tank without having to line up. Wouldn’t that save time and frustration?
A wish that a lot of drivers may want is having a vehicle that automatically slows and stops if danger is around them. Kind of like a vehicle with a brain of its own. Remember “KITT” from the “Knight Rider” television show from years ago? That was a smart vehicle! It saved the driver from many dangerous situations. Wouldn’t it be great to have a vehicle that protected you like that?
Finally Santa, I’d like a vehicle that washes itself. Better yet, a vehicle that dirt and grime doesn’t stick to. No more going to car washes that don’t get the small areas clean. The winter grime is the worst, with all the salt marks. I’d like a car that looks clean all the time. Maybe one that snow falls off it as well would be nice. Then I wouldn’t have to spend the extra minutes each day clearing it off.
So Santa, what are my chances to receive these gifts under my tree?…I thought so. There was no harm in asking now was there? Maybe next year!
