I’ve found my purpose. Have you?
We all have a purpose in life. That’s what I’ve been told and I pretty much believe that, even when life throws you a curveball. When bad news happens to us, we often ask “Why me?” Maybe there was a purpose for it. Who knows. What I do know is we can all make a difference. I like to think we’re all making a difference. Do you feel the same way? Maybe it’s time for you to sit back and find your purpose.
When I first started to write driving related articles for newspapers almost 10 years ago, I was hoping someone would read them with the thought “I didn’t know that. I should change what I’m doing.” For some people who have sent a message to me, that has happened. That pleases me and fuels me to keep writing The Safe Driver and any other place that wants my work.
Well, my efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. In late 2013, my blog made it in the top 50 of automotive blogs in North America. Actually, it was rated at number 40. I was thrilled when I saw this as it showed that many people are reading my work and coming back for more. Driving is such a common element between many people. It’s what we have in common with many others. Some have more or different knowledge compared to others, so this is a way to share the knowledge. So far it’s been working; thanks to you.

With thousands of auto writers in North America, you have to admit this was kind of cool. Hey, I even beat out Hot Rod Magazine’s blog! I love Hot Rod Magazine. I’ve been reading that since I was a kid. Regardless of who’s ahead of me or who’s behind me, I was thrilled to be included. It was rated based on the views the blog received. It’s nice to make a difference, isn’t it? After all, I’m pretty certain people read my articles and the content of my articles makes them think about their own driving. That was my goal when I started it and it appears to be working.
Since this came out, I’ve had more and more views to my articles on safe driving. Was this a result of being in the top 50? Maybe, maybe not. I’m not too worried where my readers come from, as long as they come and stay for a while. This shows me that I have many purposes in life. One of which is to help share ways to have our roads become safer for all road users. So thanks for coming and I hope you stay for a while.
