Driving a Porsche should make it to your bucket list
There’s an old saying that the more we change, the more we stay the same. That’s often the case when you look at history. That’s not always the case when it comes to vehicles. I love older vehicles with the sleek lines and the sound of power. Nothing sounds better than hearing the engine roar from certain vehicles. One of those vehicles to me is the Porsche.
Let’s start with a brief history about Porsche. The company was founded by Ferdinand Porsche, who was employed by Mercedes-Benz as the chief engineer. By 1931, Ferdinand incorporated his own company under his surname of Porsche. From that point on, Porsche was born and the roads have never been the same since.
As an advocate of safe driving, I also appreciate the high-end vehicles that allow the driver to fully embrace the driving experience. The thrill that comes from the precise handling that the Porsche provides and the unmatched design all add to Porsche’s charm. Although Porsche has more than 70 years of experience building cars, Porsche has never stopped seeking to find ways to improve the vehicle’s design and performance.
I was in a Boxter years ago and it was a thrill. The acceleration was brisk, the cornering was amazing and I never felt so safe. It felt like I was attached to the vehicle as we maneuvered around the winding roads. It really made me want to have one of my own. Maybe one day it will make it to my bucket list.
When a Porsche vehicle is designed or re-designed, a lot of detail and care goes into the making of the vehicle. The company is constantly recognized for reliability and safety. Basic safety features that a Porsche has includes Porsche Stability Management, Lane Change Assist, and Anti-lock braking systems, just to name a few, all help to build your confidence in each Porsche vehicle you drive. Taking a Porsche out on a winding country road will allow you experience the smoothness and precise handling of the vehicle. Just thinking about that has me excited. Okay – deep breath.
With all the added features a Porsche has, regular maintenance is needed. When it’s time to service your vehicle, always use certified Porsche trained technicians. They care about your vehicle almost as much as you do, so you’ll never have to worry about the quality of service your Porsche will receive. After all, you decided to get a Porsche for the performance. Therefore you want to keep it.
Whether it’s a Porsche 911, a Boxter, a Caymen or any other model, treat them well. If you’ve never driven a Porsche, add it to your bucket list. Once you’ve experienced the performance and the handling, it will be difficult to let it go.
